Muslim-friendly care

Muslim-Friendly Medical Care in the Heart of Bangkok

Physician-led, evidence-based, minimally invasive treatment — designed to respect your faith at every step.

Every year, thousands of Muslim patients and their families travel from the Gulf, Southeast Asia and across Thailand to Bangkok for medical care. At YOUNIFY Clinic in Silom we have built our care around what matters to you: treatments for real medical conditions performed without open surgery, transparency about everything we use in your care, female physicians you can request, privacy as the default, and a location in Bang Rak — one of Bangkok's most Muslim-friendly districts, near the historic Haroon Mosque.

Treatment, not cosmetics

YOUNIFY is an integrative medical and wellness clinic — not an aesthetic clinic. Our flagship procedures exist to treat diagnosed medical conditions such as obesity and knee osteoarthritis. We understand that for many Muslim patients the distinction between medical treatment and cosmetic alteration matters deeply. Our physicians are always happy to explain exactly what a procedure does, why it is medically indicated, and what it involves — so that you can take that information to your own religious advisor with confidence. We present medical facts; guidance on religious permissibility belongs with the scholars you trust.

Our signature minimally invasive treatments

ESG — Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (non-surgical weight loss)

A treatment for obesity performed entirely through the mouth using an endoscope. The stomach is reshaped from the inside — no incisions, no scars, and no part of the stomach is removed. Patients typically lose around 15–20% of body weight within one year; results vary by individual. Most patients go home the same day.

GAE — Genicular Artery Embolization (knee osteoarthritis without surgery)

An image-guided procedure for knee osteoarthritis pain, performed through a puncture smaller than a grain of rice — no open surgery, no implant, no general anesthesia. Results may last several years in some patients, typically 1–5 years, varying by individual. For patients who have been told their knee needs replacement surgery, or who cannot or do not wish to undergo it, GAE may be an alternative worth assessing.

How we care for Muslim patients

Ingredient transparency, always

Some medications and materials used in modern medicine may contain animal-derived or alcohol-based components. Ask us about anything used in your care — we will tell you exactly what it contains, and where a clinically appropriate alternative exists, we will offer it.

Female physicians on request

Our medical team includes female doctors. If you or a family member prefers care from a female physician, tell us when you book and we will arrange it wherever availability allows.

A private space for prayer

A clean, private space for salah is available at the clinic, with the qibla direction indicated and prayer times available on request.

Ramadan-aware scheduling

Fasting changes the timing of everything — meals, medications, energy. We schedule consultations and procedures around fasting hours during Ramadan, and our physicians will discuss medication timing with you.

Privacy as the default

Private consultation and recovery rooms, and a strict policy: we never use patient images without written consent. Modesty is respected in every examination, and chaperones are welcome.

Halal dining in the same district

Bang Rak has been home to a Muslim community for nearly two centuries. Haroon Mosque (est. 1828) and long-standing halal restaurants sit in the district around the clinic.

Traveling from the Gulf or overseas?

Before you fly

Send your medical records or imaging via WhatsApp or LINE — our physicians review your case and confirm whether you are a candidate before you book flights. Video consultation is available.

Short stays

Most patients go home the same day after our signature procedures, with typical Bangkok stays of 3–7 days depending on the treatment.

Family welcome

Companions can join consultations, and we help coordinate family logistics — many of our international patients travel with several family members.

Aftercare

Scheduled tele-follow-up after you fly home, plus a written summary for your doctor at home.

Frequently asked questions

Is treatment at YOUNIFY permissible for Muslim patients?

We provide medical treatment for diagnosed conditions such as obesity, knee osteoarthritis and chronic pain. Whether a specific procedure is appropriate from a religious perspective is a question for the scholars you trust — and our physicians will gladly explain in detail what any procedure involves, so you can have that conversation with complete information.

Can I request a female doctor?

Yes. Our team includes female physicians. Let us know when booking and we will arrange it wherever availability allows.

Do your medications contain porcine-derived ingredients or alcohol?

Some medications used in modern medicine may contain animal-derived or alcohol-based components. We disclose ingredients on request, and offer clinically appropriate alternatives where they exist. Please raise this with your physician during consultation — we welcome the question.

Is there a place to pray at the clinic?

Yes — a private space with the qibla direction indicated. Mosques in Bang Rak, including Haroon Mosque, are nearby for Friday prayers.

Can I have a procedure during Ramadan?

In many cases, yes. We schedule around fasting hours and our physicians will plan medication timing with you. For some procedures it may be better to schedule before or after Ramadan — your doctor will advise you honestly.
